Community Impact
The Riverland is a community built on hard work, resourcefulness and a deep connection to the land — and the Loxton Energy Hub is designed to reflect those values. CleanGen will prioritise local jobs and regional suppliers, ensuring the economic benefits of the project flow directly into the communities that surround it. Through genuine partnerships with local councils and community organisations, a dedicated community benefit program will support what matters most to Riverland people — from education and youth development to community wellbeing and engagement with First Nations communities. The people of the Riverland will help shape what those benefits look like, and how they are delivered.
Benefits and Outcomes
The Loxton Energy Hub positions South Australia at the forefront of the clean energy transition. Harnessing the region's abundant solar and wind resources alongside battery storage, the project will bolster grid stability, reduce emissions and deliver clean power to more than 100,000 South Australian homes. Beyond its energy contribution, the project will bring enduring economic activity to the Riverland through local procurement, employment, First Nations partnerships and community investment in education and wellbeing that grows alongside the region for the life of the project.
"Farming has given our family everything, but it doesn't get any easier. This is our chance to set things up properly for the next generation — keep the land in the family, take some of the pressure off, and give our kids a reliable income without the back-breaking work. Tanya and I are really proud of that."
