Overview
The Kerang Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is a 103 MW/206 MWh project located adjacent to the Kerang Terminal Station in Victoria — an ideal position for direct grid connection and maximum network impact. CleanGen secured the site and subsequently obtained development approval, before the project was acquired by ACE Power in 2021 and most recently by BANPU in 2025, reflecting the project's strong credentials and investment appeal.
Strategically located in a key part of the Victorian transmission network, the Kerang BESS will play an important role in strengthening grid stability and supporting the state's growing renewable energy capacity.
CleanGen acknowledges the Wemba-Wemba and Barapa Barapa peoples as the Traditional Custodians of this Country and respects their enduring connection to this land.
