Solar and BESS
Overview
The Kentucky Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is a 400 MW solar and 400 MW / 1,200 MWh utility-scale project located in the New England region of New South Wales. One of the largest solar and storage projects in the state, Kentucky is designed to deliver clean, reliable power to the grid at scale, making a significant contribution to New South Wales' renewable energy future and the long-term energy security of the region.
The New England region offers exceptional solar resources and strong grid connectivity, positioning the project as a major contributor to the state's clean energy transition. Originally developed by CleanGen, the project was acquired by ACE Power in 2023, which was subsequently acquired by Tag Energy in 2025.
CleanGen acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the Country on which this project stands and respects their enduring connection to this land.
