Overview

The Forbes Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is a 141 MW solar and 120 MW/ up to 960 MWh utility-scale project located in Forbes, New South Wales. Originally developed by CleanGen, the project will generate over 500 GWh of clean electricity annually, powering the equivalent of more than 47,000 NSW homes and making a significant contribution to the state's renewable energy future.

Situated in the Central West of New South Wales, Forbes benefits from excellent solar resources and strong grid connectivity, positioning the project as an important contributor to the region's economic activity and long-term energy security.

The project continues to be developed under a joint venture between ACE Power and Osaka Gas.

CleanGen acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the Country on which this project stands and pays its respects to their Elders past, present and emerging, recognising their enduring connection to this land.
